Don Wayne Swango

Don Wayne Swango, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2020. Born July 6, 1942 in Monroe County, he was the son of Richard and Lillian (Jones) Swango.

Don was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business. He was a member of Local Union 181 of operating engineers. He was a 50 year member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #84 and attended Mansions in Heaven Church in Bloomfield.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Rita (King) Swango; two daughters, Linda Swango (Carla) of Linton and Karen Sluder (Andy) of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Wyatt Sluder and Abraham Sullivan (Mandy) Eyan and Emry; 1 brother, Lloyd Swango (Joyce) ; sister-in-law, Wilma Swango; Brothers-in-law, Walter Kay Daniels and Terry Summitt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James (Betty) Swango and Warren Swango, sisters, Wanda Daniels and Linda Summitt and his parents.

A Masonic service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2020 followed by a Memorial service at Mansions in Heaven Church in Bloomfield, with Rev. Erin Raper officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.

The family asks that all memorial contributions may be made to Mansions in Heaven Church in Bloomfield.
