CLARA M. (POYNTER) KELLER, 87, of Lewis, IN, passed away at 1:45 p.m., November 13, 2023, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

She was born March 19, 1936 in Somerset, Kentucky to Albert and Betty (Denney) Poynter.

Clara married Dale Alfred Keller in May 17, 1985, he passed away in September 20, 2012.

Survivors include grandchildren Luke Simpson (Teresa) of Coal City, IN., Lori Simpson of Sullivan, IN; great-grandchildren, Garrett Kimmich, Eli Simpson, Matthew Simpson, and Sarah Simpson; great-grandchildren Saphira Kimmich; brother, John Poynter of California; niece, Kay Poynter of Eubank, KY daughter in-law, Denise Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Larry Poynter; sisters, Jewell (Poynter) Hudson, Alta (Poynter) Whitis; brothers, Wilmer Poynter, Elbert Poynter, Arnold Poynter, Lenzie Poynter, L.V. “Perk” Poynter.

Clara was a banquet Manager for Sheraton Hotel in Indianapolis for many years. Clara loved her pictures, making scrap books, and working in the yard. Her real joy was spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with Clara’s wishes cremation is scheduled with no services planned at this time.
