Charlotte "Carole" (Moreland) Reed, 89, of Worthington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at her residence. Carole was born in Greene County on September 22, 1930 to Otto Moreland and Irene (Sims) Moreland.

Carole married Lawrence "Curly" Reed in 1946 and together they raised six children. She started as a dishwasher at Busy Bee Restaurant in Worthington at the age of ten and worked there and other restaurants for many years.

Carole also worked at the Worthington Times Newspaper for sixteen years while raising her family. Carole loved her family dearly, enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, reading, coloring, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed living with her daughter Kathy for over twenty one years.

Carole is survived by her children, Kathy Hubbard of Worthington, Keith and wife June Reed of Cloverdale, Kevin Reed of Worthington, Barbara and husband Rob Spears of Worthington, Janie and husband Tim Bruner of Greencastle, son-in-law, Chic Stalcup of Worthington, special niece Resa Hamilton of Coal City, friends, Lena Johnson, Evelyn Heacox, thirteen grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren with two on the way and several nieces and nephews.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Sheila Stalcup, brother, Merle Moreland, and sisters, Joyce Pruett and June Bredeweg.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
