Charles William Beal

Charles William Beal, age 94, of Dayton, Nevada, originally from Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his home on April 9, 2022. He was born in Linton, Indiana on March 28, 1928, the son of Charlie and Nette (Osha) Beal.

Charles left his home in Linton to join the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War, retiring after many years of service. He worked as an engineer for the California State Prison System until his retirement.

Charles was a life-member of the American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Shrine, and the B.P.O. Elks. He and his late wife, Suzie, enjoyed traveling, including many trips to his home town Linton, Indiana during the local 4th of July celebrations. During this time he proudly carried a flag with the VFW, walking many miles during the towns annual parade. Charles was known for his outgoing personality and made a friend with everyone he encountered.

He is survived by his extended family, his dear neighbor and friends, Ronald and Betty Ross of Dayton, Nevada; his Linton family friends, Gary and Suette Walton and family; John and Janie Fish and family; Mike and Elesa McCann and family; Phyllis Mead and family; and a host of other friends, including his faithful dog, Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Suzie; and his sister, Sadie.

Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton. Private burial was held in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
