Charles Lee Evans
/Charles Lee Evans, born September 24, 1943 to Orville P. and Edith (Brewer) Evans went to be with his Lord and Eternal family on April 15, 2019.
Charlie was a long-time resident of Scotland, Indiana; and proud to have grown up in French Lick, Indiana. He was an Army veteran, serving with the 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Metal, the Vietnam Service Metal and the Vietnam Campaign Metal. Charlie was a member of the American Legion, life member of the VFW Post # 9297 and a long-time member of the Harvest Community Church, he retired from Crane Army Ammunition Activity in 2000, he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Charlie is survived by his children, Dawn (Howard) Briscoe, Tonya (Larry) Higgins, Tracy (Bob) Hall, Toni (John) Blackmore, Sandy (Frank) Bradley, Kristie Evans and Richard (April) Evans; his grandchildren, Michael Gentry, Nathan Schroyer, Joshua (Kristin) Howell, Jacob (Alisha) Blackmore, Bobby (Hannah) Howell, Danielle (Tanner) Vaught, Kellie Evans, Matthew Evans, Jocelyn Evans and Thirteen great grandchildren.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Bonnie Evans, one sister, Joyce Lewis and his parents.
There will be a Celebration of Life service held on Saturday April 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating, friends and family may gather from 10 A.M. until the hour of service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to a Veterans Association of one’s choice in Charles Evans name.
