Charles Evart “Chuck” Erdly

Charles Evart “Chuck” Erdly, 81, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Glenburn Home, Linton Indiana. He was born on October 30, 1941, in Wolfe Lake, Indiana to Evart Faye Erdly and Pauline Jane (Bair) Erdly. 

Chuck was a member of the BPO Elks 866 in Linton, Dugger Masonic Lodge 721 F & AM, Zorah Shrine Temple in Terre Haute, Greene County and Sullivan County Shrine Clubs and the SAL Worthington American Legion Post #0106. Chuck was employed with General Electric Plant in Linton with over 25 years of service, managing several different departments. He entered retirement in 1994.  He enjoyed playing golf, watching his grandchildren sporting events and socializing with his Elks and Shrine friends. 

Family left to cherish the memory of Chuck include his son, Anthony Charles (Lynne) Erdly of Jasonville; daughters, Anita Sue (Allan) Woodward of Linton, Lisa Marie (Mark) Purichia of Indianapolis, Paulette Rene (Jarman) Lannan of Linton; grandchildren, Braxton (Danielle), Brantli and Braymon Lannan, Allison Woodward, Brandy and Randy Miller, Whitnea and Michael May; great-grandchildren, Judson, Maddox and Gavin Miller, Cooper, Brier, Kinzer May and Sylvi Faye Lannan; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Erdly, Katie (Patrick) Hunter, David James (Emily) Erdly and Todd (Laurie) Erdly; a brother, David Lynne (Sherrie) Erdly of Albion. 

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Edward and Jimmy Lee; one sister, Kayanne Jane. 

Funeral services to honor the life of Chuck Erdly will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel, 89 NW C St., Linton, IN with Danny Hillenburg officiating. Chuck will be laid to rest at Dugger Cemetery, Dugger, Indiana. 

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2022.  A Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM that evening. Also, visitation will continue from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday December 7, 2022.   

Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
