Charles E. "Eddie" Vest
/Charles E. “Eddie” Vest, 89, of Bloomfield passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday January 20, 2020 at Glenburn Home in Linton. Born May 11, 1930 in Mineral, he was the son of John L. Vest and Lillian (Flynn) Hall.
Eddie was retired from being the owner of Vest Trucking Corp in Worthington, a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine both of Indianapolis, the Worthington VFW and American Legion SAL, Eagles Lodge in Bloomington, Bloomfield Odd Fellows Lodge, Greene County and Sullivan County Shrine Clubs, the Linton Elks Lodge and was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church. Eddie loved IU Basketball, Nascar and socializing with his many friends.
Surviving relatives include his two sons, Charles L. “Sonny” Vest and Michael (Kim) Vest, he has seven grandchildren, Lesley (James) Holland, Stacy (Chad) Lowry, Amy (Curt) Fulbright, Jeremy (Brandy) Vest, Megan (Dan Raines) Toon, Abby Vest, Jordan (Steve Rollins) Vest and seven great grandchildren, Gage Lowry, Gracie Lowry, Darrius Philpott, Chloe Toon, Liam Fulbright, Katie Fulbright and Chase Wiles, sister, Lydia Hamilton, sister-in-law, Wilma (Jerry) Mowery and several nieces and nephews.
Eddie was preceded in death by his wife Vera Vest on February 15, 2011; one brother, William “Bill” Vest his parents and step-father, Curt Hall.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday and 11 A.M. Thursday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor John Moffatt officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
The family wishes in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to IU Health Hospice or Walnut Grove Cemetery.
