Cecil Ray Lakes
Cecil Ray Lakes, 77, of Worthington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomington, Indiana. Cecil was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 8, 1943 to Chester Lakes and Nancy K. (McDaniels) Lakes.
Cecil retired as a master painter from Indianapolis and moved to Worthington to spend time with his family. Cecil loved spending time with his grandchildren, mowing the lawn, playing cards and going fishing.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Susan (Johnson) Lakes, daughter, Bekah (Tommy) Williams, grandchildren, Randy Little, Teri York, Keya (Joe)York-Arthur, great-grandchildren, Khloi Little, Charlie Frances York, Conrad Jackson Alvey Cullen, Bexleigh York, Brynleigh York, Blakleigh York, brothers, Doyle Lakes, Chester Lakes and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, J.K. Lakes.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 23 South Jefferson Street, Worthington. Brother Doyle Lakes will officiate. Burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation is 11:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday, at the funeral home. Mask and social distancing will be practiced while at the funeral home.
