Cecil "Dallas" Waddell
/Cecil ‘Dallas’ Waddell, 72, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on July 26, 1948 in Putnam County, Indiana to Cecil Ira Waddell and Ella Mae (Simpson) Larson.
Dallas married the love of his life, Reanea L. (Porter) Waddell on May 25, 1969.
Dallas was a US Army, Vietnam Veteran. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. Dallas retired from General Electric in 2010 with 20 years of service. He enjoyed collecting books and antiques, and was an avid writer, writing short stories and poems.
Family left to cherish the memory of Dallas include: his wife, Reanea Waddell; two sons, Elvis Waddell and partner Carmen Schwartz of Newburgh and Conway Dallas (Laura) Waddell of Brazil; one daughter, Starla Secrest and partner, Jason Moore of Lyons; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Marco (Cheryl) Dees of Greencastle and one sister, Marty (Randy) Harris of North Fort Myers, FL.
Dallas was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Benjamin Waddell; brother, Jimmy Jo; sisters, Georgia Mae and Bonnie Lou.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Carl Williams officiating. Dallas will be laid to rest in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield following military graveside rites provided by Bloomfield American Legion Post #196.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending. Additional regulations are allowing only fifty (50) individuals in the funeral home at one time.
