Carolyn L. (Joseph) Dickey, 85, of Shelburn, IN passed away at 7:49 P.M. Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Terre Haute, IN.

She was born February 26, 1939 in Sullivan County to Fred Joseph and Gladys (Jordan) Joseph.

Carolyn married Jack W. Dickey on June 25, 1960 and he passed away on April 8, 2013.

Survivors include her children, Tracy Crosby (Mark) of Shelburn, IN, Kelly Mills (Mike) of New Braunfels, TX, Theresa Pinkston of Hymera, IN; grandchildren, Michael Crosby (Ashlee), Samantha Hamilton (Brock), Matthew Crosby (Sarah), Gayle Dobbs (Tyler), Connor Mills; great-grandchildren, Koye Netherlain, Lexy Hamilton, Evelyn Hamilton, Elaim Hamilton, Wynnie Crosby; sisters, JoAnn Christy of Shelburn, IN, Judy LeCocq of Jasonville, IN,  Donna Griffith of Martinsville, IN, Sharon Rice of Jasonville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers.

Carolyn graduated from Shelburn High School. She worked alongside her husband for over 40 years in the automotive business, as well as multiple other businesses. She was not one to be content to slow down. She retired after working 10 years at the Peabody Coal company. While in her 50’s she graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a nursing degree. She attended Shelburn First Baptist Church. She is fondly remembered for her dedication and care of her family. She never stopped being a loving mom to her children, and she had the same loving care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. – 1P.M.  Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M. with Pastor Ben Wetherington officiating.

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
