Carolyn A. Thompson, 82, of Odon, Indiana, and formerly lived at Switz City for 52 years, passed away peacefully, on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Parkview Village Christian Care in Odon. She was born on May 29, 1938 in Bloomfield, Indiana to Bertrand and Annabell (Pilk) Goad. Carolyn married her husband of 65 years, Charles Gilbert Thompson on May 21, 1955.

Carolyn was a bookkeeper for Huse Food Group for several years before retiring in 2000. She enjoyed crocheting and word puzzles. Carolyn adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Family left to cherish the memory of Carolyn include: one daughter, Carla (Bruce) Porter of Switz City; grandson, Charles (Kimberly) Porter of Newberry; granddaughter, Jennifer (Luke) Hancock of Sandborn; great-grandchildren, Jeffrie Porter, Casey Porter, Ruby Hancock, Wesley Porter and Annie Hancock; sisters, Peggy (Vernon) Thompson of Springville and Sheryl McDaniel of Linton.

Carolyn was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Charles Thompson; sister, Phyllis Padgett; brothers, Butch, Lloyd and Larry Goad.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Vernon Thompson officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Newberry.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
