Bobby G. Mauder “Woodwalker”, age 87, of Coal City, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 24, 2021, with his daughters and his faithful dog “Bud” by his side. Bobby Mauder

He served during the Korean War for the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion of Worthington. He loved riding horses, camping and any social community event in the area. If he could have lived in the cowboy days, he would’ve loved it. He was a true cowboy at heart. He was loved by all that met him and the “Best Hugger” ever! He would give you the shirt off his back or anything else with nothing expected in return. He will be so missed by everyone that knew him. He lived a good life for 87 years before Jesus took him to his eternal home.

Bobby is survived by his beloved daughters, Judy (Charlie) Oran, Kim (Dan) Archer and Bobbi (Keith) Griffith; grandchildren, Stephen (Mindy) Sparks, Candi (Chris) Payne, David (Tashina) Watson III, Danielle (Tyler Shields) Vest, Doriah Sparks, Chelsea (Anthony Li) Harper, Britnee (Matt) Duckworth, Hunter Griffith and Jordan Brant; 27 great grandchildren; best friends, Ed and Ann Gilbert and Benji Gilbert; sisters, Illeen Luttrell, Opal Harden, June Miller and Barbara Cullison as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene Mauder, Forest Mauder, Norman Mauder, Lester Mauder, Jackie Mauder and Chuck Mauder as well as sisters, Imogene Freeman and Erma Weaver .

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 with Kevin Gilbert officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-5:00 pm.

A private graveside service will be observed by the family at a later date.
