Billy J. Cunningham, 82, of Linton, Indiana, passed away with family by his side, on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born on September 1, 1939 in Greene County, Indiana to Joe and Dora Mae (Ellis) Cunningham.

He married his wife, Ruth E. (Parks) Cunningham in 1999.

Billy was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1434. He worked for the city of Linton in the maintenance department, retiring in 2017 with over 35 years of service. Billy enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time on the river.

Family left to cherish the memory of Billy include: his wife, Ruth Cunningham; son, Terry Cunningham of Linton; step-son, David (Michelle) Pearson, of Linton; step-daughters, Ellen (Gordon) Gawthorp of Illinois, Tracey (John) Maguire of Boston, MA and Lisa (Craig) Long of Wisconsin; brothers, Bob (Carolyn) Cunningham of Linton and Ron (Judy) Cunningham of Oaktown; sisters, Opal Vest, Doris Medley, Pat (Jim) Knotts, Joyce (Curt) Bland, Beulah (Steve) Shonk and Sue Wallace, all of Linton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Cunningham.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Billy will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
