Beverly Ann "Bev" Egnew

Beverly Ann ‘Bev’ Egnew, 87, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life to Heaven, on Friday, March 22, 2024, with family by her side. She was born alongside her best friend and twin sister on July 18, 1936, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ernest H. and Laura Josie (Graves) Leach.

Beverly married the love of her life, her husband of nearly 70 years, Harry L. Egnew on December 31, 1954, upon his return from a 2-year deployment in Korea.  For the past 59 years, Harry & Bev have happily resided at Egnew Farms on Lone Tree Road.

Beverly was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church, a loving wife, mother, & Granny. Bev worked at Walmart and Roots Dept. Store as a clerk.  She enjoyed attending her grandkids’ ball games & school events, collecting decorative pigs, baking & cooking, and spending time with her family.  Granny proudly talked to anyone about her kids and grandkids.  Bev & Harry enjoyed traveling to Branson and spending time at the Grand Ole Opry.  She also spent many weekends traveling or watching her favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.  Granny had a gift for providing a feast for Sunday dinner and holiday gatherings.

Family left to cherish the memories of Beverly include her husband, Harry; sons, Tarry (Teresa) Egnew of Switz City, Tom Egnew, Tim (Juanita) Egnew, daughter, Barbara Susan Egnew-Sparks all of Linton, and sister-in-law, Marie Swalls of Lewis.  The joys of her life, her 10 grandchildren: Travis (Heather) Egnew, Tera (Alex) Knepp, Tracee (Nick) Dixon, Trista (Beau) Baker, Shane (Sara) Egnew, Candyce Spearman, Bart (Amy) Sparks, Broc (Sara) Sparks, Bret (Julia) Sparks, Briar (Ali) Sparks; 27 great-grandkids: Emilee, Elyas Egnew, Braylee, Brynna, Brielle, Bria, Beilyn, BellaMei Knepp, Hadlee, Kooper, Mattinglee Dixon, Brayden, Merritt Baker, Miles Karr, Shaneisa (Logan) Beck, Ashton, Jaidyn, Tanay Egnew, Onyx Spearman, Jalen Boyll, Delaney, Coen, Calvin, Emmett Sparks, Liam, Harrison, and baby girl Sparks; 2 great-great grandkids: Emory and Maylee; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her dog, Missy.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Barbara Leach, sisters Kathryn Rogers and Mildred Leach, brothers Hubert, Joe, and Vern Leach, and her beloved dog, Boo.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Cliff Gano and Alex Knepp officiating. Beverly will be laid to rest in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 29, 2024, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
