Betty Britton

Betty Lee Britton 87, of Solsberry, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at IU Health West in Avon. Born September 14, 1930 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Russell R. and Daisy (Walls) Wright.

She married Fred Britton on June 2, 1949. She was a homemaker, farmer and did house cleaning. She loved talking on the CB radio; her handle was “Pretty Lady”. She enjoyed ceramics, embroidery, spending time with her grandkids and helping and taking care of others. She enjoyed horse pulls and music.

Surviving relatives include: one son, Frederick Britton, two daughters, Nila (Britton) Mosier and Peggy (Britton) Fitch; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren; two sisters, Joan (Wright) Harden and Jeanette (Wright) Ford; two brothers, Thomas Wright and Jerry Wright.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Britton on September 9, 2000, one son, Charles Britton, one daughter, Teresa Ann (Britton) Seever, a granddaughter, Carolynann Mosier, and three brothers, Wayne Wright, Johnny Wright and Richard Wright.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Solsberry Christian Church, with Jim Weimer officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Solsberry Christian Church.
