Bertha Ann Harrell

Bertha Ann Harrell 87, of Newberry passed away Saturday January 6, 2024 at her residence.

Born April 20, 1936 in Lyons, Indiana the daughter of Paris and Nellie (Cullison) McDonald.

Bertha worked at Switz City School she helped in the cafeteria and the class room, she was retired. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, traveling and her golf cart.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Sue (Jim) Aynes, two grandchildren, Randy (Kim) Sullivan, Brandi (Robert) Sullivan, three step-granddaughters, Pam (Wayne) Wolfe, Laura (Chris) Blanton, Mitzi (Bert) Johnson, she has nine great grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren and one brother, Lloyd Ray McDonald.

Bertha was preceded in death by her first husband, William Mack Huffine, her second husband, Rex G. Harrell, one brother, Wilber McDonald, one sister, Clara Carr and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10 from 12 P.M. until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Nathan Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.

The family asked that any memorial donations in Bertha’s name be given to Riley Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
