Barbara (Simmons) Jeffrey, age 69, of Anderson, formerly of Worthington, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Linton, IN on October 11, 1952, the daughter of William Junior & Ruby (Lawson) Simmons.

She was a Linton-Stockton High School graduate. Barb was a homemaker while her children were growing up and then she held several jobs within the South Madison Community School system. She was a volunteer firefighter at Wright Township Fire Department. Barb was a member of the Eastern Star; enjoyed painting, crafting and was a craft leader in 4-H in Madison County.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Haylie Williams of Anderson; son, Frederick (Tracy) Jeffrey, Jr. of Lewis; grandchildren, Isabelle Williams, Wyatt Jeffrey and Walker Jeffrey; and brothers, William Wayne (Peg) Simmons and Joe Simmons; sister-in-law, Mary Helterbrand along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick Jeffrey, Sr and sister, Judy Elaine.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, July 15, 2022. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm, and on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
