Barbara “Joann” Norris, 80, of Bloomfield passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019. Born in 1938, she was the daughter of Alvin and Naomi Carmichael.

Joann worked for the Greene County Veteran’s Office assisting veterans and their families for many years.

Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Rhonda (Ace) Royal of Bloomfield and Teresa (Tony) Schantz of Bloomfield; one son, Jeff (Louise) Combs of Bedford; her grandchildren, Byron (Alyssa) Royal of Bloomfield, Jordan (Lyndal) Schantz of Bargersville, Tyra Schantz of Bloomington, Makenzie (Spencer) Watson of Plainfield, Connor Schantz of St. Louis, Missouri, Ryan (Bonnie) Sparks of Zionsville, Jeffrey Combs of Bloomfield, Austin Combs of Hendricksville and Seth Combs of Bloomington; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Bob Carmichael of Bloomfield; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Norris, her parents and a sister, Ruby Cazee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Chris Gehring officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to Parkview Village Christian Care or Heart to Heart Hospice.
