Alvin W. Roberts, 90, of Bloomfield passed away Saturday August 4, 2018 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born March 23, 1928 in Dugger, Indiana the son of Ray J. and Nellie R. (Phillips) Roberts.

Alvin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he worked as an Engineer at Crane, he was a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge # 84, Scottish Rite in Terre Haute the Switz City Christian Church and was a pilot owning his own plane.

Surviving relatives include his three children, Steve (Marilyn) Roberts of Tampa, Florida; Diane (Dave) Willoughby of Martinsville, Debbie (George) Ockerman of Bloomfield, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Lorene Roberts on October 16, 2013; two sisters, Ida Seawright and Leona Roberts, one brother, Raymond Roberts and his parents.

There will be no public visitation.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on September 22, 2018 at the Switz City Christian Church with Chris Gehring officiating.

The family wishes any donations be made to the Scotland Cemetery or the Switz City Christian Church in Alvin’s name.
