New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, May 28, 2026:

May 27, 8:49 a.m., Ann Margrett Layne, 44, Brazil, was arrested on a warrant for child molesting. No bond was allowed. 

May 27, 9:16 p.m., Dennis Van Brown, 73, Bloomfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. No bond amount was available. 

May 28, 5:26 a.m., McKenzie Elaine Sater, 31, Bloomfield, was arrested on a preliminary charge of domestic battery. No bond was allowed.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
