New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, May 21, 2026:

May 20, 1:31 p.m., Shanda Cheyane Merriman, 33, Bloomfield, was arrested on a warrant for possession of a hypodermic syringe or needle. No bond was allowed. 

May 21, 2:00 a.m., Arthur Jarett Holstein, 24, Jasonville, was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated-endangerment. His bond was set at $8,000 surety with 10% cash allowed.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
