August 1, 2022, 12:16 PM, William Edward Umfleet, 33, Vincennes, Indiana, was arrested on a new preliminary charge of felony theft. His bond was set at $4000 surety with 10% cash allowed. Linton Police Officer Davis Aerne was the arresting officer.

August 1, 2022, 2:42 PM, Anthony Charles Clark, 45, Washington, Indiana, was arrested on a warrant issued for failure to appear in a case involving misdemeanor theft. His bond was set at $5000 surety with 10% cash allowed.

ANTHONY CHARLES CLARK

August 2, 2022, 7:22 AM, Ashley Kaye Lewis, 38, Sullivan, Indiana, was arrested on a warrant issued out of another county in a case of misdemeanor theft. She was being held without bond. Linton Police Officer Wayman JR Blazier was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
