New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, April 22, 2021:

April 21, 7:31 p.m. – Robert Junior Padgett III, 27, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a new preliminary charge of felony theft. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Linton Police Chief Paul Clark was the arresting officer.

April 22, 12:56 a.m. – Darreus James Rainwater, 25, Linton, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony resisting law enforcement using a vehicle and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Jasonville Police Officer Skylar Scott was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
