New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, December 15, 2021:

December 14, 2021, 3:04 p.m. – Kevin Vern Caldwell, 48, Solsberry, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued after he failed to appear at an initial hearing on charges of felony battery with a deadly weapon and a sexual offender registration violation. He was being held without bond.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
