New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, November 19, 2021:

November 18, 2021, 9:13 p.m. – William David Hunter Barnes, 19, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued for a violation of conditional discharge in a case involving misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Coy was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
