New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, January 24, 2020:

January 23, 5 p.m. – Sharon Alexander Hutchison, 53, Springville, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony manufacture/dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe. She was being held without bond pending court appearance. Indiana State Police Trooper Caleb Garvin was the arresting officer.

January 23, 7:38 p.m. – Eric Joseph Townsend, 34, Newberry, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence on a conviction of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Maj. George Dallaire was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
