New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, December 10, 2019:

December 9, 1:37 p.m. – Elizabeth Ann Samm, 52, Sullivan, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a preliminary charge of felony possession of methamphetamine. She was being held without bond pending court appearance.

December 9, 10:38 p.m. – Joshua Lewis Parson, 36, Indianapolis, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony auto theft and misdemeanor driving while suspended. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
