New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • April 2 – Emma Leann Schultz, 33, Brazil, Ind., was arrested on warrants issued out of Clay County in two cases, involving felony burglary in one and misdemeanor possession of marijuana in the other. She was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Det. James O’Malley was the arresting officer.
  • April 2 – Sarah Elizabeth Petersen, 36, Oolitic, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued for failure to appear in a case involving misdemeanor domestic battery. Her bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Bobby Pierce was the arresting officer.

Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
