New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • October 10 – Kayla Jo Pirtle, 30, Carlisle, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence on a conviction of misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more. She was being held without bond. She was booked in at 9:20 p.m. Greene County Jail Officer Steve Dobson was the arresting officer.

  • October 10 – Alejandro Garcia, 30, Linton, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony domestic battery. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He was booked in at 9:59 p.m. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Heather Wood was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
