Worthington man facing multiple counts of theft from a Linton store

A Worthington man is accused of shopping in a Linton store on multiple occasions over the past few months, stealing a long list of items. He’s been arrested, released, and is scheduled to appear in court at the end of April.

Robert Nicholas Isenogle

Robert Nicholas Isenogle, 38, of Worthington, was arrested on Tuesday, March 24, by Officer John Agan of the Linton Police Department following an investigation by Officer Agan into multiple thefts from the Walmart store in Linton.

An Asset Protection Associate from the store filed reports with the police department alleging Isenogle was in the store multiple times between December, 2019, and February, 2020. Officer Agan said the store was able to provide video surveillance of Isenogle’s visits on December 6, 23, 26, January 27, February 4 and 27, which they said showed Isenogle selecting a wide range of items located in departments throughout the store then leaving the store without paying for them using a method called “skip scanning.” The totals of the transactions ranged from around $30 up to $189.

Then on March 23, in an unrelated case, Officer Agan assisted Town Marshal Jim O’Malley of the Worthington Police Department with a search warrant that was executed at Isenogle’s residence in Worthington. While in the residence, Officer Agan saw two recognizable items that were on the list of items stolen from Walmart.

Marshal O’Malley then advised Isenogle of his rights and when Officer Agan talked to Isenogle, he allegedly confessed to stealing items from the store. He was interviewed at the Linton Police Department then transported to the Greene County Jail.

Isenogle’s bond was set at $2,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $200 and was released later the same day.

Isenogle is currently scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on April 27.

He is facing preliminary charges of three counts of theft, all Class A misdemeanors.
