Woman killed, child critically injured in Linton crash caused by storm

A Dugger woman was killed and a child critically injured after a tree fell onto a vehicle during Friday evening’s storm.

At approximately 7 p.m. on May 16, Greene County Dispatch received a report of a single-vehicle incident involving a tree that had fallen onto a black 2006 Pontiac near County Road 1500 West in Linton, reportedly due to storm conditions.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver, identified as 33-year-old Allison L. McCammon of Dugger, dead at the scene.

Three juvenile passengers were also in the vehicle at the time of the incident. One child was reported to be in critical condition. The conditions of the other two passengers were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation by Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Andrew Shelton. He was assisted by Greene County Ambulance Service, Greene County Coroner’s Office, and Linton Fire Department.
