On Thursday, during an initial hearing, bond was set for a woman charged with meth possession and identity deception - $12,500 surety with ten percent allowed. But even if she posts the $1,250 cash in Greene County, she’s wanted on three other warrants out of Monroe County, in cases involving felony forgery, felony drug possession and a misdemeanor theft.

In Greene County, Rebecca Carol Turner, 36, has been charged with:

• Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony
• Unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony
• Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor
• Identity deception, a Level 6 felony

Court records and the jail log list Turner with a Bloomington address – an address located in rural western Monroe County.

Court records also show that in Monroe County, she was convicted of conversion in 2011, theft in 2016, and there’s unresolved infractions issued in 2015 for operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility and driving while suspended.

She was convicted of two counts of felony forgery in November of 2017, released to a treatment facility and successfully completed a treatment program. After this success, she was then scheduled back in to court for a review hearing – but didn’t show up for it. An arrest warrant was issued on May 22. Same thing on a conviction of unlawful possession of a legend drug – failure to appear at review hearing, second warrant issued May 22.

The third warrant was issued for another failure to appear in a case involving misdemeanor theft.

The case in Greene County came about as a result of a traffic stop late last Monday, June 4.

Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Jordan Allor stopped a 2007 Pontiac G6 about a false registration plate. There was one driver, three adult passengers and one juvenile.

The officer had to sort through some confusion and stories about the title and registration of the vehicle, but Turner, who was a passenger, allegedly gave the officer a fake name and birthdate. She later said she lied about her real name because of the warrants out for her arrest.

Officer Allor requested back up and Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies Bobby Pierce and Heather Wood arrived to assist.

The vehicle ended up being searched, with permission from the vehicle’s owner. A stolen firearm was recovered, and they also located a bag that Turner later admitted belonged to her.

Inside the bag, officers reported finding not one, but 18 syringes, along with a couple of smoking devices and cut straws with residue. Some field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Turner was booked into the Greene County Jail around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning and was held without bond until she appeared in court for her initial hearing on Thursday.
