A warrant was issued for a woman who failed to appear in court for an initial hearing on a trespassing charge. She was booked into the Greene County Jail last Friday.

Summer Joeann Sullivan, 29, Linton, was booked into the Greene County Jail last Friday afternoon, June 4, on a warrant that was issued after she failed to appear in court for an initial hearing.

On April 24, Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department was dispatched to Walmart in Linton after LPD got a call about a woman, Summer Sullivan, who had been trespassed from the property but was in the store.

When Officer King arrived, Sullivan was in a checkout lane and he stopped her after she paid for her items and finished her transaction.

Sullivan allegedly said she was told in January she was trespassed from the property. She said she’d talk to management and get the trespass order lifted. The officer said at that point, she was still not supposed to be in the store. He informed Sullivan that information would be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.

A criminal case was filed against Sullivan on April 28 and a summons was sent, ordering her to appear in Greene Superior Court on June 3 for an initial hearing. The summons was returned to the court, marked unclaimed and unable to forward.

Sullivan failed to appear at the hearing and a warrant was issued for her arrest. After she was taken into custody, her bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $500 and was released later the same day.

Sullivan’s initial hearing has been rescheduled for June 17 when she’ll be facing a charge of criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.
