There was a warrant out for the arrest of Faith K. Boelter-Denny last Friday, July 20, when Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies Shawn Cullison and David Elmore spotted her in Lyons.

The deputies were southbound on State Road 67 when they passed a northbound black Chrysler PT Cruiser and Elmore recognized Boelter as the driver.

Boelter, 23, Lyons, was stopped and detained on the warrant.

Since the car was not hers, she was allowed to call the owner to come get the vehicle. Then she said she had a backpack, wallet and phone charger in the vehicle that she asked to take with her.

Deputy Cullison said when he removed the items from the car, in a small, unzipped front pocket of the backpack, in plain view, was a clear syringe with orange caps on both ends.

Cullison reported that when Boelter was asked if the syringe would test positive for methamphetamine, she said it shouldn’t, but it would test positive for suboxone, and she did not have a prescription for suboxone. Suboxone is a Schedule III controlled substance.

Boelter was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail.

So, a new case was filed against her and at her initial hearing on Tuesday, she was charged with unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony.

And a previous case, the one with the warrant issued for her arrest, is also pending against her. In that case, a petition to revoke a suspended sentence was filed with the court, on a conviction of the same charge as the new case – unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony.
