Woman accused of throwing bricks through ex-boyfriend’s windows

A woman who admitted she twice threw a brick through a window of her ex-boyfriend’s residence in Switz City is being charged with criminal mischief.

A summons was issued this week to Abigail Chubb, 23, Linton, ordering her to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on January 21.

Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, dispatch talked to a caller who said his ex-girlfriend, Abigail Chubb, broke a window out of his house on West First Street in Switz City.

Deputy Zachary Goad of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the investigating officer, was dispatched.

When Deputy Goad arrived, he talked to two men who were sitting at the kitchen table next to the window when the window was broken. The resident who had called it in said glass flew inside when it broke. When he went outside, he saw Chubb, wearing a black hoodie, standing near the corner of his residence.

The resident said when he asked her what she was doing there, she replied with expletives and when told law enforcement was going to be called, she walked down the road.

The resident said since Chubb moved out, this was the second time she broke a window. He said she threw a brick through a different window on Tuesday, November 3, and he didn’t report it but warned her if it happened again, he would report it.

GCSD Deputy Davis Aerne also arrived to assist on the scene and he located a brick under the broken window. Deputy Aerne also talked to a neighbor who saw Chubb and told her to go home.

The two deputies then traveled to a residence where Chubb is staying. According to Deputy Goad, Chubb said she is upset over the breakup and upset because the house formerly belonged to her but the man paid the taxes and had the house put in his name somehow. She admitted she lost her temper and threw a brick through the window and also threw a brick through the different window on November 3 but she would not do it again and said she would have the window fixed.

A criminal case was filed against Chubb on Wednesday. She is facing a charge of criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor.
