A Linton woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly pushed another woman to the ground.

Cheyenne Nicole Riley, 28, Linton, was arrested Sunday evening, September 29, by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department.

Around 6 p.m. that night, Officer King was dispatched to a location on 7th Street SE on the report of a battery. When he arrived, he talked to a woman who said she was sitting on the curb in front of her house, smoking a cigarette when Riley walked up to her, started yelling at her and threatened to punch her in the face.

The woman allegedly said she told Riley to leave but Riley punched her in the face three times then pushed her to the ground when she stood up.

Officer King reported that the woman did not have any markings visible on her face, but she did have a bruise and a small cut on an arm.

When Officer King talked to Riley, she allegedly said when she went outside to throw her trash away, the woman started yelling and calling her names and she admitted she confronted the woman and pushed her to the ground then walked away.

Riley was transported to jail and booked in around 8 p.m. Her bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $100 and was released.

She is scheduled to appear in court on October 10 when she will be formally charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.
