Woman accused of criminal trespassing
A woman who knew she'd been trespassed from a store was arrested when she went there anyway to help her grandmother get groceries.
Misty Dawn Knight, 29, Westphalia, was arrested by Officer Cayden Walker of the Linton Police Department last Sunday night, October 2.
Officer Walker responded to the Walmart store in Linton around 10:00 PM Sunday when LPD Dispatch got a call from Walmart saying Misty Knight was in the store but she had previously been trespassed from the property. When Officer Walker arrived at the store, he was given a copy of the trespass order signed by Knight in December of 2021.
Knight allegedly told the officer she was aware she was not supposed to be in Walmart but she was there to help her grandmother get groceries.
Knight was arrested and transported to the sheriff's department where she was booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:43 PM with bond set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed. She posted $100 and was released later the same day.
Knight is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on October 13 for her initial hearing on a charge of criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.
