Wellness Fair brings health resources to Linton on March 28

A day focused on health, education, and community connection is planned later this month as the Greene–Sullivan County Wellness Fair returns to Linton.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Saron United Church of Christ.

Event organizer Wendy Bailey said the fair is designed to bring together local providers and resources to support overall well-being.

“This event is about supporting physical, mental and emotional health while connecting our communities with valuable local resources,” Bailey said.

Attendees will have access to a variety of services and information during the event.

Versiti Blood Center of Indiana will be on-site accepting blood donations throughout the day.

IU Health will offer low-dose CT lung scans for lung cancer screening by appointment for qualifying individuals. Screenings are typically covered by most insurance providers under preventive services.

Providers from Sullivan County Community Hospital will also host “Doc with the Docs” sessions, giving attendees the opportunity to speak directly with medical professionals in an informal setting.

Planned sessions include:

  • Dr. Wahib — women’s health services

  • Dr. Antony — colonoscopies and preventive testing through the Dugger clinic

  • Dr. Nosa — understanding medications and potential drug interactions

The event will also feature a variety of vendors and community organizations offering information and services focused on wellness.

The Vet Center will be in attendance and will provide free dog tags for veterans.

Bailey said the goal is to make health resources accessible in a welcoming environment.

“We want people to feel comfortable asking questions, learning something new and taking steps toward better health,” she said.

Community members are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the free resources and services available.
