Weekend crash involving two motorcycles and a truck claims one life

Multiple departments responded to the scene of a Saturday morning crash that claimed one life and involved three vehicles including two motorcycles.

The crash occurred around 11:50 AM on Saturday, July 30, on State Road 67 north of Switz City.

According to GCSD Deputy Zachary Goad, the investigating officer, Robert McKee 43, Carlisle, was operating a 2009 Harley-Davidson and Andrew Brown, 19, Vincennes, was operating a 2005 Honda Shadow when the crash occurred. Both McKee and Brown were traveling northbound on SR 67.

Danny Cliver, 78, Martinsville, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on SR 67 when McKee lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons, which caused Brown to also lose control of his motorcycle. Both riders were ejected from their motorcycles.

McKee continued into the southbound lane where he was struck by the Silverado. Brown stopped in the northbound lane of travel.

McKee was pronounced deceased. Brown was transported by the Greene County Ambulance Service to Greene County General Hospital with unknown injuries. Cliver was not reported to have been injured.

Agencies responding to assist on the scene included the Greene County Sheriff's Department, Jasonville Police Department, the Linton Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the Switz City Fire Department and the Greene County Ambulance Service.
