Wednesday, December 5, 2018, is a National Day of Mourning for President George H. W. Bush
On GreeneStreets, if there is local news that should not be delayed, it will be posted. Otherwise, it would be inappropriate. GreeneStreets will not be posting the everyday logs and news stories on this day in honor of President Bush 41.
All federal offices will be closed including federal courts and the United States Post Offices. Mail will not be delivered. Arguments at the Supreme Court will be delayed a day. The New York Stock Exchange and other markets will be closed.
A state funeral is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the Washington National Cathedral.
In Indiana, Governor Eric Holcomb directed flags to be flown at half-staff across the state in Bush’s honor for 30 days. State and county offices are not reported to be closed. Some businesses may close, most will remain open, but most newspapers in our area will not be published on this day.
