The Bloomfield man accused of stealing a case of beer from a Bloomfield business in late November was arrested last week. Last year he was accused of stealing a Christmas tree.

Justin Cole Crosby, 39, Bloomfield, was taken into custody by Deputy Devan Goad of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last Friday, December 17.

Crosby was booked into the Greene County Jail at 5:21 a.m. with bond set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 and was released later the same day.

Crosby is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on January 6 on a charge of theft – with a prior conviction for either theft or conversion, a Level 6 felony.

A warrant issued in late November is still outstanding for a Bloomfield man accused of going into a Bloomfield business, grabbing a case of beer, then running out the door without paying for it.

Justin Cole Crosby, 39, Bloomfield, is facing a charge of theft – with a prior conviction for either theft or conversion. It’s a Level 6 felony.

A criminal case was filed and the warrant issued in November as a result of an investigation by Deputy Marshal Wayman JR Blazier of the Bloomfield Police Department into an incident that occurred on Wednesday, November 3.

Around 6 p.m. that Wednesday, an employee from the CVS Pharmacy in Bloomfield called Greene County Dispatch to report a theft. When Officer Blazier talked to the cashier who was working that day, she said she saw Crosby run out the door with a case of beer.

While he was at the store, Officer Blazier viewed video from the store’s surveillance system that he said did show Crosby entered the store at 5:51 p.m., heading to the area where beer is displayed on shelves. He said Crosby then took a white case of beer off the shelf, walked to the front door and left without paying for it. Crosby exited the store at 5:53 p.m. The employee who reported the theft said she followed Crosby out of the store and watched him get into his truck and leave the area.

Officer Blazier reported Crosby was convicted of theft in Greene County in July, in a different unrelated case.
