WANTED: Crimestoppers offers reward for info leading to arrest of fugitive meth dealer
A warrant was issued yesterday for the arrest of Eric Cullum, 36, Linton, formerly Lyons, after he failed to show up for the second day of his trial by jury for dealing meth.
According to Chief Paul Clark of the Linton Police Department, Cullum is now a fugitive from justice and Greene County CrimeStoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to his apprehension and arrest. Anyone with information about Cullum’s whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 812-847-5463. Callers may remain anonymous.
Cullum was arrested by Officer Bobby Pierce of the Linton Police Department last May along with four other individuals, all busted as a result of an investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force. Over 60 grams of methamphetamine was seized. Cullum was living in Lyons at the time – residents have since been evicted from that location. Court records show Cullum currently resides in Linton.
Following Cullum’s arrest last spring, his bond was set at $50,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed – he posted $5,000 and was released from custody while awaiting trial.
Cullum’s trial before Judge Erik Allen in Greene Circuit Court began Tuesday, November 30, with the seating of a jury and opening arguments. Cullum was present the first day, facing two counts of dealing methamphetamine, Level 2 felonies.
Court adjourned at the end of the first day but when it reconvened at 9 a.m. yesterday, Wednesday, December 1, for the second day, Cullum was a no-show and the warrant was issued for his arrest.
