Vehicles mangled but only one minor injury in Tuesday morning crash
/A Jeep Wrangler and a Dodge Ram truck were both extensively damaged in a crash on a county road south of Jasonville early Tuesday morning. One driver suffered a minor injury.
Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy James Carpenter responded around 8 a.m. Tuesday to the crash scene on County Road 1380 West in the area of County Road 800 North.
Adam J. Lipscomb, 28, Sullivan, was driving a black 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound on CR 1380W when the crash occurred.
Jacob May, 16, Jasonville, was driving an orange 2010 Jeep Wrangler northbound on CR 1380W.
According to a report by Deputy Carpenter, the lead investigator, Lipscomb, who was southbound, said he didn’t see the Jeep because the Jeep’s headlights were not on but when he did, he swerved over but both vehicles collided.
May, who was northbound, said he also swerved to try to avoid a collision but both vehicles collided.
Deputy Carpenter said there were skid marks from Lipscomb’s truck starting from the center of the roadway to where the collision occurred.
Lipscomb was reported to have minor bleeding to his head and was transported to Sullivan County Community Hospital for treatment.
May was not reported to have been injured.
Carpenter reported Lipscomb said he did not have insurance on his vehicle.
Besides the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, other personnel from the Jasonville Fire Department, Wright Township Fire Department, the Greene County Ambulance Service, Jasonville Police Department and Skinner Towing responded to assist on the scene.
