Uncooperative inmate racks up another charge

After a judge ordered a woman serving time with community corrections to be picked up and transferred to the Greene County Jail, deputies reported she was uncooperative and now she's facing a new criminal case on a charge of resisting law enforcement.

Amanda Ann Adams

Amanda Ann Adams, 34, Freedom, was arrested on Wednesday, March 1, by Deputy Sergeant Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff's Department, assisted by Deputy Caleb Sipes.

Sergeant Allor was dispatched to the community corrections building around 3:51 PM to transport Adams to the Greene County Jail as ordered by Greene Superior Judge Dena Martin. Allor said he took a leather transport belt with him so she could be taken into custody with her hands in front of her for her comfort.

When Sergeant Allor and Deputy Sipes arrived and told Adams they were there to take her to jail because it was ordered by a judge, Adams allegedly asked if the officer was kidding and he assured her he was not kidding. When she was told to stand up, she allegedly said. “I am not going to jail dude, I can't.”

Due to her behavior, the transport belt was set aside and she was told to stand up or she could be getting additional charges. Adams stood up and then tried to walk past Sergeant Allor and on out the front door. She was brought back into the front lobby but continued to resist both Sergeant Allor and Deputy Sipes but she was handcuffed and told she would be charged with resisting law enforcement. She cursed at the deputies.

As she was walked to the jail by the deputies, they reported she was pulling away from them most of the time but was booked into jail around 4:00 PM on the misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement with bond set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed.

However she was also booked in on a warrant issued in a case involving misdemeanor leaving the scene of a property damage crash and in that case she's being held without bond.
