When a Linton man accused of dealing methamphetamine appeared in court Thursday afternoon, his bond was set at $70,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

He had been under investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force and was arrested when they served a search warrant on a residence in Linton.  A woman who was present when the warrant was executed was also arrested.

Terry Christopher Collins, 30, and Cassandra Irene Colon, 28, both from Linton, were arrested by Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun very early Monday morning, May 13.

Collins has been under surveillance by task force personnel and is accused of selling a quantity of methamphetamine on two different occasions during May at a residence located at 659 E Street NE in Linton. An investigator from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office reports there is evidence to support these allegations.

A search warrant for the residence was approved then executed by officers late Sunday, May 12.

According to the investigator, when officers entered the residence, Collins was found in a rear room of the residence with a plastic ziplock bag and a glass smoking device, both containing residue, on his person. A 12-gauge shotgun, a .357 magnum handgun and a 9 mm Taurus handgun were all nearby along with two security video monitors that were monitoring infrared night vision cameras located outside the residence.

Inside a safe in the same room where Collins was located, officers reported finding a black zipper pouch with a plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance that field tested positive as methamphetamine and weighed in excess of 10 grams. They also found digital scales with a white residue.

Collins allegedly admitted the drug-related items belonged to him.

In another room, they reported finding a purse containing Colon’s driver’s license and two plastic ziplock bags with residue and a tube containing residue. Colon allegedly admitted the items belonged to her and that she had purchased methamphetamine from Collins.

Both Collins and Colon were taken into custody then booked into the Greene County Jail where they were held without bond pending their appearance in court.

On Thursday afternoon, both appeared in Greene Superior Court for initial hearings.

Collins was charged with two counts of dealing in methamphetamine in an amount between one and five grams, both Level 4 felonies, and dealing in methamphetamine/delivery of methamphetamine in an amount of 10 or more grams, a Level 2 felony.

His bond was set at $70,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of Friday evening, May 17, he had not yet posted bond and remained in jail.

Colon was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. Her bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Following the hearing, she posted $400 cash and was released from jail.
