Two arrested for drug possession during traffic stop last week in eastern Greene County

A Bloomington woman and a Solsberry man were taken into custody during a traffic stop last Wednesday in eastern Greene County. Both are accused of drug possession.

Rebecca Lynn Baker

Rebecca Lynn Baker, 23, rural Bloomington, was arrested by Indiana State Police Trooper Chance Humphrey last Wednesday afternoon, July 22.

Baker was the driver of a white 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was allegedly speeding westbound on State Road 445 from SR 45 at 1:22 p.m. last Wednesday. After failing to properly signal a turn onto northbound SR 43, ISP Sgt. Greg Day initiated a traffic stop.

Stanley Tanner Langley, 29, Solsberry, was a passenger in the vehicle. A records check revealed Langley was wanted on a warrant issued out of Lawrence County. Langley was taken into custody by Sgt. Day.

Langley was booked into jail in Lawrence County and is charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony, unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor. He has since posted bond and been released from jail.

During the stop, ISP Trooper Richard Klun arrived to assist and deployed his K-9 Loki who gave an alert for the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

Trooper Humphrey, the investigating officer in Baker’s case, reported that when the vehicle was searched, officers found two digital scales with the residue of a crystal substance and a baggy with residue – both field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. They also located a metal plant grinder and a baggy with a green plant-like material that field-tested positive as marijuana.

Baker was transported and booked in to the Greene County Jail at 2:35 p.m. last Wednesday.

Baker appeared in Greene Superior Court yesterday morning, Tuesday, July 28, for an initial hearing and was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

Her bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted $500 and been released from jail.
