Deputy James Carpenter of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department was the investigating officer into a Friday morning crash that occurred on CR 1000 West near CR 550 North.

Ali K. Weyrah, 34, Roxbury, Mass., was the driver of a white 2015 Hino box truck that was northbound on CR 1000 West. Weyrah said when a small car didn’t get over, the wheels on the passenger side of his truck got off the east side of the roadway and he attempted to correct by applying the brakes, but the truck began to slide across the road.

Weyrah said he was hard to remember what happened but the truck hit a residence. He also said this was the first time he had been on CR 1000 West.

Deputy Carpenter reported he saw where the truck had gotten off the east side of the roadway, then crossed the road leaving tire marks from the truck’s rear tires. Deputy Carpenter said the truck then went off the west side of the road, rolled over onto its passenger side in a yard, continued on across a blacktop driveway and then stopped when it hit the concrete foundation of a porch on the residence.

Deputy Carpenter said the resident was home at the time of the crash but was not injured. The driver also was not injured.

In addition to personnel from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, personnel responded from the Wright Township Fire Department, the Indiana State Police, the Greene County Ambulance Service and Skinner Towing.
