Traffic diverted after three-vehicle crash on SR 54 late Tuesday afternoon

No serious injuries were reported but a three-vehicle crash on State Road 54 west of Switz City late yesterday afternoon forced traffic to take a detour to avoid the scene.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, on State Road 54 west of Switz City in the area of County Road 750 West.

Deputy William C. Walker of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the investigating officer, said the crash involved personal injury but nobody was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Deputy Walker reported Jason Frazier, 43, was the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was stopped in traffic on the highway in the area of CR 750 West.

Nicole Gose, 49, was the driver of a 2014 Buick Verano, with one seven-year-old passenger on board, that was traveling directly behind Frazier, then was slowing down to also stop when her vehicle was hit from behind.

Dakota Collett, 26, was the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling behind Gose and rear-ended Gose’s vehicle.

According to Deputy Walker, when Collett struck Gose’s vehicle, the Gose vehicle was pushed into the eastbound lane of the highway and into a guard rail. Gose’s vehicle then hit Frazier’s vehicle.

GreeneStreets readers who were driving in the area reported they were diverted on a detour on county roads including CR 750 West and CR 800 West until the investigation was completed and the scene cleared.

In addition to personnel from the sheriff’s department, the Switz City Fire Department and Linton Fire Department responded to assist along with Skinner Towing and the Greene County Ambulance Service.
