In the case of a suspected methamphetamine dealer who appeared in court on Monday following his arrest last week, bond has been set at a total of $170,000 with ten percent allowed. He could be released from jail to await trial, but it would take $17,000 cash.

Donald Forker, Jr., 35, was arrested last Thursday, June 21, on two outstanding arrest warrants issued in May.

One of those warrants was issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence in a drug case that dates back to 2011 when he was arrested in drug sting, then later convicted of dealing in a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a public park. He served time in prison then was released and was on probation but the Greene County Probation Department filed the petition to revoke.

The other warrant was new, also issued in May. In the new case, police allege that Forker, for several months, was traveling to Indianapolis to buy quantities of methamphetamine, then returning to Greene County to sell it for a profit.

Following his arrest Thursday, Forker appeared in hearings in both cases on Monday in Greene Superior Court.

In the old case, with Judge Dena Martin presiding, Forker’s bond was set at $50,000 surety with ten percent allowed.

In the new case, also with Judge Martin presiding, Forker was charged with dealing in methamphetamine in an amount of 10 or more grams, a Level 2 felony, and two counts of dealing in methamphetamine in an amount between one and five grams, a Level 4 felony. In this case, the judge set his bond at $120,000 surety with ten percent allowed.

Altogether, that’s $170,000. As of Tuesday, Forker remains in the Greene County Jail.

Both cases are scheduled back into court for hearings in August.
