Tincher joins District 5 as conservation officer

Luke Tincher has joined DNR Division of Law Enforcement’s District 5 as a conservation officer. District 5 includes Clay, Greene, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo counties.

Tincher will be assigned to Vermillion County.

An Orange County native, Tincher graduated from Orleans High School. He is a 2021 graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs. He is the son of Kenny Tincher, a conservation officer assigned to Pike County.

The younger Tincher was hired in 2021. Before that, he worked for DNR’s Division of Fish & Wildlife. He recently graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and completed the Division of Law Enforcement’s Field Training Program.

“Officer Tincher is a welcome addition to District 5 and will provide a much-needed presence in Vermillion County,” district commander Lt. Dale Clark said. “He’s an avid outdoorsman with a strong appreciation for our natural resources that will translate well into our profession.”
